Instinct, which works through a user's apps, texts and calls, raised $250 million. Its broad permissions drew criticism.
The round
Instinct is built by Spear Street Technology, founded about a year ago by 23-year-old Noah Shinn. The $250 million Series B, led by Index Ventures and Benchmark, brings total funding to $350 million at a $2.5 billion valuation. The product is still in private beta.
What the agent does
Users message or call it. The founder says early users planned cross-country road trips, bought groceries and concert tickets and cancelled hundreds of dollars of subscriptions. Critics and early users have called its permissions and terms too broad.
