Its software adjusts how much power an AI data center draws based on grid conditions. The Series A values Emerald AI at $1.05 billion.
The round
Emerald AI announced a $150 million Series A on August 25, co-led by Energize Capital and DCVC, at a $1.05 billion valuation. Its investors include 12 Fortune Global 500 companies.
Flexible load
The company says turning data centers into flexible grid assets could unlock more than 100 gigawatts on the existing US grid. After five demonstrations it now runs commercially at full data center scale. With Digital Realty and NVIDIA it is bringing a roughly 100 MW Vera Rubin AI Research Factory in Manassas, Virginia online later this year.
