KTLEV share manipulation probe: 15 detained
Fifteen suspects were detained in a probe opened on a Capital Markets Board inspection report; ten more are being sought.
What happened
Fifteen suspects were detained in an Istanbul operation on September 21. The probe rests on a Capital Markets Board (SPK) inspection report dated September 17, which describes findings of market fraud in shares of Katılımevim Tasarruf Finansman (KTLEV).
Scope
Proceedings were opened against 25 suspects in total, and efforts continue to find ten who are at large. According to reports, executives of Pusula Portföy and Tera Holding were referred to court after police processing. Their legal status will be settled in court.
For investors
Being a suspect in a capital markets probe does not mean being guilty. The practical lesson for investors is to be wary of single-stock stories that spread fast on social media and to follow company disclosures on KAP.
