Stock steering from an X account: 11 detained
A probe opened on an SPK complaint alleges that an X account posted misleading content aimed at AZTEK shares.
The allegation
In a probe run on a complaint by the Capital Markets Board (SPK), an X account named HECTORAS58 is alleged to have posted manipulative content about Aztek Teknoloji (AZTEK) shares between May 4, 2023 and July 12, 2024. The case falls under information-based market fraud.
The operation
Eleven suspects were detained in an operation on September 22, and efforts continue to find three more. Their legal status will be decided in court.
Why it matters
The case shows that stock tips on social media can carry criminal consequences. In the same week, 15 people were detained in a separate probe into KTLEV shares.
