Wispr raises $280 million at a $2 billion valuation

Wispr's $280 million Series B, led by Menlo Ventures, values the company at $2 billion, up from $700 million nine months earlier. Total funding is $361 million. Peak XV, Forerunner and Goodwater joined returning backers such as NEA and 8VC.

The money will fund expansion into areas like meetings, starting with a note-taker. Wispr also previewed Canto, its first in-house speech model, which it says cuts word error rates in noisy real-world conditions from over 30% to 5-10%.
