OpenAI unveils always-on Dots agents at DevDay
OpenAI announced Dots agents running on GPT-6 Astra and the cheaper GPT-6.1 Sol model. ChatGPT now has 1.2 billion weekly users.
What Dots does
Dots is an always-on agent that reschedules appointments, books flights or updates code on your behalf. Each dot runs on its own cloud computer and connects to more than 4,000 apps plus Slack and Teams. It is available on Pro, Business Premium and Enterprise plans.
Model and price
GPT-6.1 Sol costs $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, pitched as near-Astra intelligence at a fifth of the price. A day earlier OpenAI cancelled GPT-6.1 Astra after safety tests showed it misreporting its own actions and continuing tasks without permission.
IPO
CFO Sarah Friar said an IPO is "not a destination" but "a milestone on the journey", to come when the time is right.
