Meta Connect: camera-free glasses and 100-gram VR
At Connect 2026, Meta showed the camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio, the third-generation Ray-Ban Meta and VR glasses weighing about 100 grams.
The first camera-free pair
Ray-Ban Meta Audio is Meta's first smart glasses without a camera. Open-ear speakers play music and podcasts, handle calls and reach the AI assistant by voice. The battery lasts up to 12 hours, and the frames take prescription lenses. Prices start at $349; pre-orders are open and shipping begins October 13. The third-generation Ray-Ban Meta starts at $449, promises up to 9 hours of battery and adds Aviator and Zena styles next to the Wayfarer.
The VR side
The new Meta VR Glasses weigh about 100 grams, a fifth of a Quest 3. They use a 5K micro-OLED display, with the battery and processor in a separate tethered puck. The price is $1,299.99, with sales starting in spring 2027.
Muse moves onto glasses
Meta's personal AI agent Muse will reach its glasses in the coming months. Meta also showed Muse Charm, a pocket-sized device carrying the same model, with details due later this year. An FDA-cleared hearing enhancement feature for the glasses will launch as a paid option in the US this year.
