Here is the difference and how to set one up. ## Two ways: Boost and Ads Manager The Boost button under an Instagram post is the quickest way. An ad starts in a few taps, but the options are limited. Meta Ads Manager is the real control panel for Instagram and Facebook ads. There you set the objective, audience, placement and measurement separately. If your aim is to win customers, it is better to start with Ads Manager. Your Instagram account needs to be a business account and linked to a Facebook page. ## Pick the right campaign objective The first question when you create a campaign is the objective. The system finds people who fit whatever you choose. Choose engagement and it brings people who like posts. Choose traffic and it brings people who click. Those may not be people who buy. If you want customers, set the objective to messages, leads or sales. Likes arriving without messages most often comes down to this first choice. ## Measurement: the pixel and Conversions API If the ad sends people to your site, install the Meta pixel and the Conversions API. Together they report the person who filled in a form or bought something back to the ad system. The system then starts looking for people similar to them. If the ad goes straight to WhatsApp or Instagram messages, track how many conversations start. The number to look at each week is this: cost per result = spend ÷ messages or forms received. ## Test the creative Nobody in the feed is searching for anything, so the image and the first line carry the weight. The person has to stop scrolling in the first seconds. Do not start with a single ad. Try a few different openings and change one thing per test, so you can tell what worked. When the same ad runs for a long time, the same people see it again and again and the cost per result goes up. If frequency and cost are rising together in the panel, it is time for new creative. ## The step after the ad If a person who sends a message gets a late reply, the ad money is wasted.
