# Former Bitcoin miner Firmus raises $2 billion for AI factories

With Nvidia and Blackstone in the round, Firmus's valuation rose from $5.5 billion in April to more than $10.5 billion.

## The round

Coatue and NVIDIA returned, Blackstone Tactical Opportunities and other Blackstone vehicles brought new capital, and Jane Street joined. Firmus has raised more than $3 billion in new equity over the past year, and its valuation is now above $10.5 billion, up from $5.5 billion in April.

## Where the money goes

Project Southgate, its AI factory program in Australia, and targeted expansion into other Asia-Pacific markets. Firmus is a former Bitcoin miner that repositioned as an AI infrastructure company.
