# ChatGPT Voice on mobile handles email, calendar, Slack

OpenAI opened ChatGPT's mobile voice mode to agent tasks: drafting documents, emails and Slack summaries by voice. Paid plans also get the Work tab on phones.

## What arrived

On September 23 OpenAI announced voice-triggered agent features for the ChatGPT mobile app. Plus and Pro subscribers can use the Work tab on their phones to create a document, draft an email or summarise Slack messages. ChatGPT Voice can now use permitted email, calendar and Slack plugins, for example to scan an inbox for urgent replies or book an open calendar slot.

## Free plans

Free and Go users do not get the Work tab but can reach plugins and connected apps by voice. Voice chats now produce richer text output, switching between text and voice is easier, and a conversation started on the phone can continue on desktop.

## Why it matters

The step brings work features that reached desktop earlier this year to the phone. The voice assistant moves from answering questions to acting on the user's behalf. OpenAI did not announce regional limits or a staged rollout schedule.
